equibuilt, which was established in 1998, has developed expertise in a broad range of services and seeks to provide a complete and highly personalised service to each client through a team approach based on best practice and technical expertise gained over many years of professional experience in the building and construction industry.

equibuilt's specialist disability access consultant is an Accredited member of the Association of Consultants in Access, Australia (ACAA).


 Expert Testimony in the Land and Environment Court of NSW

equibuilt has been retained in a number of cases before the Land and Environment Court of NSW. In each case equibuilt was required to provide a Statement of Evidence in response to the Statement of Issues, confer with other Experts and give verbal evidence before the Court.

These cases related to projects at the Development Application stage for:

Appraisal of Documentation for Development Application and Construction Certificate

equibuilt has extensive experience in appraising drawings and documentation for projects at the Development Application (DA) and Construction Certificate (CC) stage. equibuilt was required to provide a comprehensive written report detailing relevant non-compliance Issues relating to: DDA, BCA, SEPP's and local DCP requirements.

Certification for Occupation Certificate

equibuilt has conducted a number of site audits of completed projects prior to Issuing the Occupation Certificate. In addition, equibuilt has been retained to audit a number of existing buildings and structures to determine areas of non compliance. In each case equibuilt was required to provide a comprehensive written report detailing relevant non-compliance Issues and recommendations for resolution relating to: DDA, BCA, SEPP's and local DCP requirements.

Seniors Living 2004 Development Design (formerly SEPP5)

equibuilt has been engaged to provide extensive input into the design of numerous Seniors Living 2004 (formerly SEPP5) projects. In each case equibuilt was involved in the initial design stages through to occupation.

To date projects have included:

• Retirement village consisting of 292 dwellings, 25 metre swimming pool, restaurant, communal meeting rooms and extensive gardens and streetscapes. The dwellings were a mixture of town houses, villas, apartments and detached houses. Each dwelling complied with Class A - AS4299 configured in 11 floor plans.

• Town house development consisting of 9 dwellings with 1 adaptable dwelling complying with Class C - AS4299.

• Villa development consisting of 14 semi-detached dwellings and extensive communal gardens with 2 adaptable dwellings each complying with Class C - AS4299.

• Twin tower 12 level apartment development consisting of 186 dwellings, 2 communal eating areas, 20 metre swimming pool, recreation rooms and extensive communal gardens. All dwellings complied with Class C - AS4299 configured in 6 typical floor plans

Adaptable Universal and Livable Housing Design

equibuilt has been engaged to provide extensive input into the design of numerous residential projects that required AS4299 Adaptable housing dwellings. In each case equibuilt was involved in the initial design stages through to occupation.To date projects have included:

• Town house development consisting of 12 x 2 level dwellings with 2 adaptable dwellings each complying with Class C - AS4299

• Apartment development constructed over 2 interconnected buildings of 3 levels with basement car parking, communal swimming pool and landscaped gardens. A total of 4 adaptable dwellings were configured in 2 floor plans complying with Class C - AS4299

• Mixed commercial / residential development of 9 levels consisting of a further 3 levels of basement car parking, 2 levels (1964sqm) of commercial tenancies and 7 levels of apartments. A total of 4 adaptable dwellings configured in 2 floor plans complying with Class C - AS4299

• Mixed commercial / residential development of 14 levels consisting of a further 4 levels of basement car parking, 3 levels (2400sqm) of commercial tenancies and 11 levels of apartments. A total of 6 adaptable dwellings configured in 4 floor plans complying with Class C - AS4299

In addition to the design of the internal area of the adaptable dwellings all commercial tenancies, common areas and facilities were required to be accessible.
